Undergraduate Program

The Department of Islamic Studies is one of the oldest braches of the School of Arts and Social Sciences. It has been there since the very beginning of this university. This Department was established by the world famous nuclear scientist and an eminent Islamic Scholar, Professor Dr. M. Shamsher Ali (founder V.C of S.E.U) in Summer Semester-2003. Our curriculum is designed to enable the students to have comprehensive world view on Islam as an ideal system and its role in the development of human life according to the teachings and practical guidance of the Holy Quran and Sunnah. Besides the major area of concentration, there will be some courses from a general interdisciplinary body of knowledge which will prepare the students to adjust to the reality of contemporary world facing multidimensional issues.

We have a very rich full-time and part-time faculty members; most of our faculty members are Ph.D holders and are vastly knowledgeable in Islam and the contemporary world. Some of our part-time faculties are eminent figures in our country in their respective fields. This program has no age barrier and is open to people of all race and religion. For this program we already have the students from various countries from around the world. Our program hosts various Islamic seminars, symposiums including special seminar during the Holy month of Ramadan, Iftaar parties, study tour, picnic, and various cultural activities based on Islamic moral and values to flourish internal aptitude and endowment. In our Department, we have specialized Friday program for service holders. We are also open to the people who are on a study break. Upon completing either the undergraduate or post graduate program there are diverse job opportunities in many fields and sectors in home and abroad. The need of Islamic studies is vastly growing in society because of the lack in integrity and principles of human values.
