Professor Meer Mobashsher Ali
Department of Architecture

Prof. Meer Mobashsher Ali is one of the most experienced professor of Architecture in Bangladesh. With more than 50 years of teaching experience he is the founder Chairman of the Department of Architecture, Southeast University, Bangladesh. Prof.Ali taught Architecture at undergraduate and postgraduate level at Department of Architecture, BUET from 1966 to 2006 .He was the Dean, Faculty of Architecture and Planning, BUET and Head, Department of Architecture, BUET. Prof Ali has lectured widely at leading Universities across the globe including North America, Europe and Asia.

In his long professional career prof. Ali was the team leader of numerous projects of national importance related to building design and urban planning. He was also the jury member of different national and international Architectural competition. He was actively involved in different Projects & activities supported by Ford Foundation, UNESCO, UNHABITAT, CAA and Aga Khan Award for Architecture.

He was the Member of the Evaluation Committee of the University Grants Commission (UGC).He was also a Consultant for CAA (Commonwealth Association of Architects) for accreditation of Institutions of South Asia Region. He completed M. Phil. in Architecture from University of New Castle Upon Tyne. U.K. and did B. Arch, from University of Florida Gainesville, U.S.A with full scholarship. He participated at number of international conference, seminar and events and his research based articles are published in number of reputed journals and books. Prof. Ali was the Vice president of Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB).
