Message from the Editor-in-Chief
I feel greatly honored and excited to undertake the responsibilities of Editor-in-Chief of the Southeast University Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (SEUJEEE). I am grateful to the management of Southeast University (SEU) for allowing me to contribute to this new journal published by the esteemed Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) of SEU. With this very first issue of SEUJEEE, the EEE Department enters into a new era of research and publication under the direction of new but highly experienced and accomplished educationists from home and abroad as the Advisory Board Members. The Editorial Board is chosen from the EEE Department of SEU.
At this juncture, it is appropriate for me, as the first-ever Editor-in-Chief of SEUJEEE, to share with you some thoughts about my vision for SEUJEEE and its role in the rapidly changing electrical and electronic engineering and technology. It is also a great opportunity to discuss some of the recent developments and introduce new faces and roles which together will determine the character and affect the scope and operational management of the Journal.
The first question anybody can raise about the name or title of the journal. The changes in the fields of electrical and electronic engineering over the last few decades were very fascinating and due to the evolution of enormous fields in these areas, we cannot separate or distinguish one field from the other. Therefore, instead of narrowing down the field or branch of electrical and electronic engineering, we kept this name a general one. Thus we could go for the diversification on the scopes of the Journal rather than making it a more specialized one. I believe that for SEUJEEE to find its unique niche within thousands of EEE journals, instead of restricting its scopes, it must include different methods and modes of philosophical inquiry through a wide range of subjects that cross the established boundaries among various branches or disciplines of EEE fields. However, we may publish special issues on various occasions related to the fields of EEE. Even we may publish special invited paper issues on the EEE related research topics.
The point to be noted that the Advisory Board Members are selected from various countries around the world having diversified research background is that they would be able to connect us to several foreign authors and reviewers who will ultimately contribute to this journal and make this atmosphere more inclusive and its maneuver for further development becomes more resourceful and productive.
Our immediate focus areas are to publicize the journal to the potential researchers at home and abroad, increase the number of manuscript submissions, provide prompt review reports to the authors, improve the flow of manuscripts through the review and revision process, and ensure a careful following of the journal guidelines, compliance with the regulatory bodies, maintain journal publication schedule, etc. These are the particular areas where I am interested in emphasizing with my editorial team the suggestions and inputs from the members of the advisory board. We would not be able to flourish in these daunting tasks without proper support from the SEU management, our editorial and Advisory Board Members, Faculty Members of the EEE Department, Researchers, Reviewers, and the academic community around the world.
Our reviewers are very diligent, comprehensive, frank, and respectful in their reviews but above all, they are very constructive. They write the review in such a way that the authors are benefitted from it and be able to improve their papers. Specifically, the reviewers are encouraged to identify both strengths and weaknesses of the paper being reviewed and are asked to provide proper explanations including corresponding recommendations to be addressed during the revision of the paper by the author when they raise any issue to the authors. As such, we expect that the authors should comply with the reviewers’ suggestions, comments, and provide necessary explanations whenever necessary. They should also comply with the manuscript template and author guidelines. They should send the copyright form with the necessary information and signature. They must check the English language through any English language checker software to improve the readability and quality of the paper.
If we all can maintain the rules and regulations set by the Advisory and Editorial Board then I believe that we can make this journal a recognized journal to the researchers of the electrical and electronic engineering fields. I look forward to working with all of you in your role as an advisory or editorial board member, reviewer, author, researcher, reader, or sponsor to bring about new accomplishments for SEUJEEE. As an Editor-in-Chief, I welcome your comments, suggestions, discussions, criticisms, and thoughts to help me to comprehend and resolve any problems with the new Journal.
I am enthusiastic about this opportunity and look forward to having a great experience over the next few years to come!
