The Department of Law is committed to provide a theory based but practically focused learning environment that prepares the students to become skilled lawyers in a globally competitive world and to develop their ethical and professional responsibilities.

Department of Law is widely regarded as one of the top law schools in Bangladesh and is a leading centre for legal research and teaching. Many of the faculties in the Department are nationally and internationally recognized in their fields and are active scholars and researchers.

Department of Law started its journey in 2003. Within a short span there has been a remarkable progress of the Department. Global standard syllabi both theory and practice based are followed to impart quality education by the qualified and competent teachers. With the admission of some foreign students, the department has assumed an international look. There is a Moot court, a Computer Lab and a good collection of reading materials (both Books and Journals) in the Law Section of the Library. Performances of the passed out graduates of this department in the different areas of job market like judicial service, legal practitioners, University Teaching, Banks, NGOs, and others are very satisfactory.
