B.Sc. in pharmacy (B.Pharm)
The Department of Pharmacy is offering 160 Credit courses in four years at undergraduate level. After completion of required courses the department will offer a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) degree. The program will cover the area of Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacognosy, Physiology & Pathology, Biotechnology & Bimolecular Pharmacy, Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science.
Objectives of B. Pharm (Hons.) Program
The main objectives of this curriculum are
• To impart scientific and industrial knowledge on the identification, formulation, preparation, standardization, quality assurance (quality control) and uses of drugs & medicines and effective management of their distribution & sale.
• To produce skilled manpower to manage the affairs of hospital pharmacies, pharmaceutical industries, community pharmacy services, drug administration and other organizations in drug research, marketing, sales and administration.
• To encourage research on different fields of pharmacy so as to develop newer and conduct techniques of formulation, quality control and standardization of drugs.
• To have an intense exposure to the industrial practices through a close and consistent attachment with the industries.
